Top US diplomat does not elaborate on whether Palestinians can return to Gaza if relocated
In opinion Marco Rubio, "in order to fix a place like that, people are going to have to live somewhere else in the interim"
HAVANA, February 6. /TASS/. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has refused to specify whether Palestinians will be allowed to return to the Gaza Strip if they are relocated in line with US President Donald Trump’s proposal.
"Well again, I mean area where you're removing munitions that are unexploded, I don't think you want people living next to unexploded munitions and weapons depots that have been left behind," he told reporters while on a visit to the Dominican Republic.
In his opinion, "in order to fix a place like that, people are going to have to live somewhere else in the interim."
"And there are countries in the region who express a lot of concern about the Palestinian people, and we encourage them to step forward and provide a solution in an answer to that problem," Rubio said.
