Armenia expects US to prioritize peace in South Caucasus, PM Pashinyan states
According to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia is pursuing democracy
YEREVAN, February 4. /TASS/. Armenia anticipates that US political elites will focus on bringing peace to the South Caucasus, the Armenian cabinet quoted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as saying.
"If you ask which would be the most effective way of supporting Armenia from the US point of view, I would say that including peace in the South Caucasus in the list of priorities for the US political elite would be important," the Armenian PM said at a meeting with members of the Save Armenia organization in Washington.
According to Pashinyan, Armenia is pursuing democracy. "We are trying to strengthen democracy and place it on an institutional basis so that it can rely on the political will of the ruling forces. So far, there has been only one instrument through which attempts are being made to undermine Armenia’s democratic process, that being the instrument of war, escalation, and conflict," he added.
