NEW YORK, January 22. /TASS/. Former US president Joe Biden has left a letter to his successor Donald Trump in the Oval Office, wishing him "all the best in the next four years," and adding that he prays for peace and prosperity of the United States.

"As I take leave of this sacred office I wish you and your family all the best in the next four years. The American people - and people around the world - look to this house for steadiness in the inevitable storms of history, and my prayer is that in the coming years will be a time of prosperity, peace, and grace for our nation," Fox News quoted the letter as saying.

Republican Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on January 20. He won the election on November 5, 2024, defeating Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris. His first term as US president was in 2017-2021.
