BERLIN, December 27. /TASS/. Beijing could serve as a mediator in negotiations aimed at peacefully resolving the Ukraine conflict, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated in an interview with the Handelsblatt newspaper.

"After my discussions with [Chinese President] Xi Jinping, I believe that China is likely to mediate," the Serbian leader responded to a question about Beijing's willingness to take on this role. Vucic also expressed the view that "it would be a positive development."

In May, following consultations, Wang Yi and Celso Amorim issued a six-point joint statement emphasizing that dialogue and negotiations are the sole path to resolving the Ukraine conflict. China and Brazil proposed holding an international peace conference "at the right time," ensuring equal participation from all parties to discuss peace proposals. In September, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated that Moscow welcomed the Sino-Brazilian peace initiative.
