Astana, Moscow, Baku will not hide information on plane crash — Senate speaker

Maulen Ashimbayev warned against premature conclusions concerning an external impact on the plane based on photographs, noting that certain forces were trying to derive dividends

ASTANA, December 26. /TASS/. Kazakhstan, Russia and Azerbaijan do not intend to conceal information concerning the plane crash near Aktau. All relevant information will be disclosed to the public at large, the speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan’s Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev has said.

"It is impossible to say that the damage in question is a result of this or that impact. The panel of inquiry is working. Experts are probing into the affair and they will make conclusions. Neither Kazakhstan, nor Russia, nor Azerbaijan, of course, are interested in concealing information. It will be disclosed to the public at large. There can be no doubts about this," Ashimbayev said, while commenting on speculations in the media and social networks the photos of the tail part of the plane showed damage allegedly similar to traces of shrapnel from an anti-aircraft missile.

"These speculations and unfounded. To foment them is wrong and unethical. This is an indicator that some wish to derive dividends in this situation," he told the media in Astana.

The Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25. The plane carried 67 people, including 62 passengers, mainly citizens of Azerbaijan, as well as nationals of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and five crew members. According to the latest reports, 38 people, including seven Russians, were killed, while 29 others survived.
