ISTANBUL, December 24. /TASS/. At least 12 people were killed and three injured as a result of an explosion at an explosives manufacturing plant in the town of Balikesir in western Turkey, Governor Ismail Ustaoglu reported.
"As a result of the explosion, 12 people were dead and three wounded. The possibility of a terrorist attack has been ruled out," the CNN Turk TV channel quoted him as saying.

The possibility of a terrorist attack has been ruled out, and we are considering only the possibility of an emergency due to technical issues," the statement said.
According to the TRT Haber TV channel, a fire broke out as a result of the explosion. There is damage, it added.
