BERLIN, December 21. /TASS/. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Interior Minister Nancy Faeser were booed during their visit to Magdeburg after the terrorist attack at the Christmas market, the Berliner Zeitung newspaper reported.
Scholz and Faeser visited a Christmas market in Magdeburg, where a BMW driver ran over people on Friday night. A protest broke out during the chancellor's and minister's visit, with demonstrators whistling and shouting "Get out!". A woman also shouted at Scholz: "Do something. Must something worse happen?"
A BMW driver deliberately drove his car into people at a Christmas market on Friday night. Officials say at least five people were killed and more than 200 injured. Authorities in the region and in Magdeburg called it a terrorist attack. The suspect was born in Saudi Arabia in 1974. He is in custody. The man arrived in Germany in 2006 and was granted refugee status in 2016.
