Venezuela’s Maduro reveals ultra-right plot to trigger civil war in South American nation

CARACAS, December 19. /TASS/. Ultra-right groups attempted to incite a civil war in Venezuela following the presidential election held on July 28, 2024, President of the Bolivarian Republic Nicolas Maduro told Venezolana de Television.
"The only scenario concocted by Venezuela’s Ultra-rights was to ignite a wave of violence," the Venezuelan leader said as he revealed that "an attempt to ignite a civil war" in the country had been made on July 29-30. According to Maduro, non-governmental organizations had received millions of dollars to finance destabilization in Venezuela, involving organized crime in their scheme. "NGOs have every right to be present and work in Venezuela, but only if they comply with the laws and refrain from taking part in plots against peace in the republic," he stressed.
