Over half of Polish citizens believe that Kiev should accept territorial losses — survey
During a similar survey in September, 39% of respondents supported this opinion
MOSCOW, September 18. /TASS/. More than half of Polish respondents believe that Ukraine should accept the loss of its territories in order to reconcile with Russia, according to the Polsat TV channel that cited a survey conducted by Poland’s Centre for Public Opinion Research.
The survey says that 55% of respondents believe that the conflict in Ukraine must be brought to an end, even if it means loss of territories or even sovereignty for Ukraine. During a similar survey in September, 39% of respondents supported this opinion.
A total of 31% of respondents believe that Kiev must not agree to make any concessions.
The remaining 14% had no answer.
The survey was conducted between November 28 and December 8, among 915 Polish respondents.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin set forth the conditions for resolving the situation in Ukraine, which included Ukraine withdrawing troops from Donbass and Novorossia and abandoning plans to join NATO. In addition, Moscow insists that all Western sanctions be lifted and Ukraine’s non-bloc and non-nuclear status be guaranteed.
