Conditions for Ukrainian forces in Kursk Region continue to deteriorate — The Economist
Every Ukrainian unit in Kursk has switched to defense, the magazine said
LONDON, December 17. /TASS/. The situation in the Kursk Region is growing increasingly dire for Ukrainian forces with each passing day, according to the British magazine The Economist on Monday evening.
The periodical reports that Ukrainian non-commissioned officer Ruslan Mokritsky described the worsening conditions for Ukrainian troops in the Kursk Region. "Rain, slush, snow, cold, mud, beetles, worms, rats and glide bombs," the magazine quotes the officer as saying. "Every unit in Kursk has switched to defense."
Ukraine’s large-scale offensive on the Kursk Region began on August 6. A federal-level state of emergency has been declared, and residents from border areas have been evacuated for safety. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev has lost more than 41,400 troops and 242 tanks since the onset of the conflict near Kursk. The operation to eliminate the invading forces is ongoing.
