Israel tries to censor information by killing Palestinian journalists — TV channel
According to CPJ Director Jodie Ginsberg, Al Jazeera "is one of the only international news organizations with staff still in Gaza"
DUBAI, December 16. /TASS/. Israel's killing of Palestinian journalists is nothing but an attempt to censor information coming from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Qatar's Al Jazeera quoted the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) as saying.
According to CPJ Director Jodie Ginsberg, Israel's killing of Palestinian journalists is part of "a systematic attempt to censor information." "We are reliant on [Palestinian journalists] for all the information we’re getting out about what’s happening inside Gaza," she said, pointing out that Al Jazeera "is one of the only international news organizations with staff still in Gaza."
On Sunday, the TV channel reported that the Israeli army had killed its cameraman covering the situation in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
According to the Palestinian enclave's government press service, a total of 196 reporters have died in Gaza since tensions escalated in October 2023.
