SpaceX headquarters to move to Texas, Musk says
Several hundred employees of the company already live there
NEW YORK, December 13. /TASS/. The headquarters of the US space technology company SpaceX will be moved to Texas, where a new city of Starbase may appear, its founder Elon Musk said.
"The SpaceX headquarters will now officially be in the city of Starbase, Texas," the billionaire wrote on his X page, commenting on the petition that SpaceX had previously sent to a local judge. The document contains a request to grant the territory of the Starbase spaceport the status of a city. It also said that several hundred employees of the company already live there.
In July, Musk announced plans to move SpaceX's headquarters out of California because the state's governor, Gavin Newsom, signed a law encouraging schools to protect LGBT rights (recognized as an extremist movement and banned in Russia). As Musk said at the time, the adoption of this law was the "last straw" for him.
