Ex-Ukrainian officer shocked by high number of foiled terror attacks in Russia
Ukraine developed a major multi-phase operation to carry out the attack, Vasily Prozorov went on to say
MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. The number of terrorist attacks foiled in Russia by intelligence agencies is incredibly high, Vasily Prozorov, a former officer of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), said in an interview with TASS.
"Basically, I tried to figure it out and carried out my own journalistic investigation into Ukraine’s subversive and terrorist activities in Russia. This really is a serious problem. I praise and honor our intelligence and law enforcement agencies. As a former operative, I take my hat off to them. They work 24/7. I am struck by the number of terrorist attacks that are foiled. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to thwart everything; it’s physically impossible," he noted.
Prozorov also speculated that the 2022 attack carried out by Ukrainian intelligence agencies that killed Russian political scientist Darya Dugina had largely been aimed at her father, philosopher Alexander Dugin. "Until recently, we had to deal with classic subversive and terrorist activities. The killing of Darya Dugina is a specific example of that. First, I’m sure that she wasn’t the target, but her father was, who is a media figure and a world-renowned person," Prozorov said.
Ukraine developed a major multi-phase operation to carry out the attack, he went on to say. "The perpetrator—a Ukrainian female service member—had been provided with three sets of documents, as well as explosives, and her logistics routes had been worked out. That’s subversive and terrorist activity in the classic sense. There’s a killer on a mission with all preparations made, starting from documents to the stakeout," the former SBU officer explained.
