Ukrainians lose trust in Biden and other Western leaders, poll reveals

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Trust in US President Joe Biden among Ukrainians has dropped sharply, showing the most significant decline compared to other Western leaders, according to a survey commissioned by the New Europe Center.
Biden’s approval among Ukrainians fell from 82% to 55.2% over the past year, the center revealed during a press conference, which was broadcast live on its YouTube channel.
The 26.8% decline in Biden's approval rating marked the largest decrease among Western leaders. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is ahead of Biden, with a 24.5% drop in trust. Polish President Andrzej Duda, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Moldovan President Maia Sandu also saw declines in trust from Ukrainians, compared to 2023.

Overall, 52.2% of respondents expressed the belief that Western partners are not fully supporting Ukraine amid the ongoing armed conflict.
At the same time, 44.6% of Ukrainians said they trust US President-elect Donald Trump, a level of trust notably higher than that observed in European countries.
The poll, commissioned by the New Europe Center and conducted by Info Sapiens from November 15 to November 27, 2024, surveyed 1,000 respondents with a statistical margin of error not exceeding 3.1%.
