Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik undergoes successful stomach surgery
The day before, the 65-year-old Dodik was hospitalized in Belgrade
BELGRADE, December 9. /TASS/. President of Republika Srpska (one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's entities) Milorad Dodik has successfully undergone stomach surgery in Belgrade and has been transferred to the intensive care unit, the Bosnian Serb leader's office said in a statement.
"Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik underwent a successful operation today in Belgrade. After several hours of complex surgery, which began at 8 a.m. local time (7 a.m. GMT), he was transferred to the intensive care unit. <...> The operation was performed in a clinic specializing in this issue, with the participation and consultation of doctors from Republika Srpska," the statement said.
The day before, the 65-year-old Dodik was hospitalized in Belgrade with acute stomach pains. Before the operation, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited him in the ward.
