Ukraine requests 20 more air defense systems from NATO ministers
Earlier, Kiev had repeatedly complained that Western countries had not provided the promised air defense systems
MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Ukraine has requested at least 20 more air defense systems from NATO, including Hawk, NASAMS, and IRIS-T, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga told journalists during the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, which was broadcast on the NATO website.
"We have already informed our partners about our primary needs, and we are thankful to them for their quick response. We are asking for no less than 20 additional systems, such as Hawk, NASAMS, or IRIS-T," he said.
Earlier, Kiev had repeatedly complained that Western countries had not provided the promised air defense systems. The supply of the most advanced one among them, the Patriot surface-to-air missile system, manufactured in the US, has been exceptionally slow. The Russian Defense Ministry regularly reports the destruction of various Western air defense systems in Ukraine, including the Patriot.
