Trump’s former security aide sees 'no easy way out' of Ukraine conflict
According to John Bolton, Donald Trump "is actually seeking to put an end" to the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine as soon as possible even as he "is not very much concerned about exactly how they will end"
BELGRADE, December 3. /TASS/. There is no quick fix to the Ukraine conflict, but US President-elect Donald Trump will figure a way out of it, Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton said in an interview with Serbian newspaper Politika.
"I, for one, don’t think there is a fast and easy way out of the Ukraine conflict. But I believe that before [incumbent US President Joe Biden’s] term ends, Washington could provide more assistance to Kiev," Bolton noted.
According to him, Trump "is actually seeking to put an end" to the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine as soon as possible even as he "is not very much concerned about exactly how they will end."
Meanwhile, the Ukraine conflict "increases the risk of further instability" in the Balkans, Bolton insisted. The Trump administration needs to pay more attention to the region than it did during his first term, he argued. Trump’s former adviser also opined that "instability in the Balkans doesn’t meet anybody’s interests."
In the US presidential election on November 5, Republican Trump defeated his Democratic rival, US Vice President Kamala Harris. He will be inaugurated as the United States’ 47th president on January 20, 2025.
