Iran ready to assist Syria in combating terrorists — president

BEIRUT, December 2. /TASS/. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated in a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart, Bashar Assad, that Tehran is prepared to offer any necessary assistance to Syria in combating terrorism, the Syrian president's office reported.
"President Pezeshkian reaffirmed that Iran firmly rejects all attempts to undermine Syria’s unity and stability," the statement, published on the agency’s Telegram channel, reads. The president of the Islamic Republic emphasized Iran’s readiness to provide Syria with all necessary support in eliminating terrorists and foiling the plans of their backers and supporters.

On the morning of November 27, the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group (banned in Russia) launched a large-scale attack on a broad front in northern Syria.
