TUNIS, December 2. /TASS/. The Syrian Defense Ministry denied allegations that terrorists attacked members of the military command in the north of the Hama province.
"News posted on terrorist accounts about an attack on participants of a military meeting or any of the military commanders in a site in northern Hama do not have a basis in reality," it said in a statement on Facebook (banned in Russia as it’s owned by Meta Corporation, which is designated as an extremist organization in Russia).
Earlier, some media outlets reported allegations that terrorist groups attacked Syrian military commanders when they were holding a meeting in the town of Masyaf in the Hama province.
On the morning of November 27, the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group (banned in Russia) carried out a major attack in northern Syria. According to the Syrian military, the terrorists attempted to attack villages and towns under the protection of the Syrian armed forces and military sites, continuing to target the positions of government forces. The Syrian military started an operation to repel the raid. On November 30, the country’s military command stated that the armed forces were conducting strikes on the positions of terrorists who had infiltrated many neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo. According to the Syrian Defense Ministry, the armed forces had to reorganize its forces to protect the lives of civilians and troops and prepare for a counterattack.
