BEIRUT, December 2. /TASS/. At least 241 health workers have been killed in Lebanon as a result of hostilities between Israel and the Shia movement Hezbollah since October 2023, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Lebanon said in an update.

Since October 8, 2023, there have been "158 attacks on healthcare facilities, with 241 health workers killed and 292 injured while on duty," the update reads.

According to it, since mid-October 2024 alone, 86 such attacks have been reported, resulting in 180 fatalities, with 213 people being injured.

On the morning of November 27, a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon came into force. US President Joe Biden announced that agreements between the Jewish state and Hezbollah include provisions for Lebanese forces regaining control over their territory within 60 days. Then the Israeli military will begin a gradual withdrawal from the Arab republic, while civilians from both sides will be able to safely return to their homes and begin rebuilding them.
