Foreign fighters involved in terrorist attacks in Aleppo, Idlib provinces — Syrian army
The Syrian Armed Forces’ General Command warned that "terrorist organizations are spreading misleading information, news and videos on their platforms aimed at intimidating citizens"
TUNIS, November 29. /TASS/. In Syria’s Aleppo and Idlib provinces the government army continues to repel an offensive by the extremist group Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia) and large groups of foreign militants, the Syrian army’s General Command said in a statement published on the Defense Ministry's official page on Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia).
"Our armed forces operating on the fronts around Aleppo and Idlib continue to repel a major attack by armed terrorist formations affiliated with the so-called Jabhat al-Nusra, which use various types of heavy weapons, medium weapons, and drones in their attacks and rely on large groups of foreign terrorists," the post reads.
The Syrian Armed Forces’ General Command warned that "terrorist organizations are spreading misleading information, news and videos on their platforms aimed at intimidating citizens" and called for relying on the coverage of events in the state-run Syrian media.
On November 28, the Syrian Armed Forces’ command said that on the morning of November 27, the extremist group Jabhat al-Nusra in the north carried out a "large-scale attack on a wide front." According to the statement, the terrorists attempted to hit "villages and towns protected by the Syrian army and military facilities" and continued to attack the positions of government forces. Later, the Al Mayadeen TV channel reported that the Syrian army units had launched a counter-offensive against the positions of the militants, who captured more than 20 localities north and west of Aleppo city.
