TEL AVIV, November 27. /TASS/. Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is also the leader of the far-right Otzma Yehudit party, criticized the ceasefire with Lebanon, calling it a ‘historic mistake.’

"This is not a ceasefire. This is a return to the concept of quiet for quiet, and we have already seen where this takes us. This agreement fails to fulfill the goal of this war - the safe return of northern dwellers to their homes," he wrote on the X social network.

"To withdraw from Lebanon, we will need our own security belt. We saw that we can trust only ourselves. Otherwise, missiles will be fired towards Manara, Avivim, Qiryat Shemona and the rest of Israel’s north, and towards the whole State of Israel. As a result, we will have to return to Lebanon again. This is a historic mistake," he said.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyuahu announced on Tuesday night that the Israeli war cabinet has officially accepted the US-proposed plan of a ceasefire in Lebanon.
