MINSK, November 22. /TASS/. The West is inciting Ukraine to continue the war, forcing Russia to roll out new weapons, Belarusian Security Council State Secretary Alexander Volfovich said ahead of the conference dedicated to the security of the Union State in the Academy of Sciences in Minsk.

"Russia is forced to showcase these weapons, to demonstrate its ability to carry out more significant damage. The West is fueling and encouraging this," Volfovich said, according to BelTA. "The so-called permission for Ukraine to hit Russian settlements and civilian infrastructure indicates that the West does not intend to resolve this issue peacefully."

According to the official, "the West does not support peace, it supports war."

Volfovich underscored that Russia has cutting-edge weaponry with huge range and combat potential, capable of doing much greater damage.

"But Russia seeks to contain and stop this conflict, in order to sit at the negotiation table and achieve a consensus. This is what Belarus and our president always talk about. We advocate for the resolution of this problem and keeping people safe," Volfovich underscored.

Previously, the media reported that the US and the UK authorized Ukraine to use long-range precision weapons on targets deep in Russian territory. Ukraine used Western-made missiles to attack targets in the Kursk and Bryansk regions. In response, Russia hit Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities with the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile with a conventional payload.
