Trump to focus on securing US economic interests, toughen policy towards China — Slovak PM
Robert Fico also anticipates "reduced US involvement in various conflicts"
BELGRADE, November 22. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump will focus on protecting Washington's economic interests and toughen his approach to building relations with China, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said in an interview with the Radio Television of Serbia.
"I believe the new American president will prioritize protecting US economic interests," the Slovak prime minister stated. "For this reason, we can expect a tougher approach to China, which is unfortunate but likely. Additionally, I anticipate reduced US involvement in various conflicts. The international engagement of Donald Trump's administration, I think, will be less compared to the Democrats currently in power," he added.
Republican Donald Trump defeated Democrat Kamala Harris in the US presidential election held on November 5. His inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025.
