"There is no equivalence - none - between Israel and Hamas," US president said

WASHINGTON, November 22. /TASS/. US President Joe Biden described as "outrageous" the International Criminal Court (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

"The ICC issuance of arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous. Let me be clear once again: whatever the ICC might imply, there is no equivalence - none - between Israel and Hamas," he said in a statement, released by the White House.

Biden assured that his country would "always stand with Israel against threats to its security."

On Thursday, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Palestine. The ICC also demanded the arrest of Mohammed Deif, commander of a military branch of the Palestinian Hamas movement. Meanwhile, in August, the Israeli army reported that Deif had been eliminated in an Israeli strike on the town of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip on July 13.
