According to the agency, the diplomatic mission informed Spanish citizens living in Ukraine about this via email. The embassy called for Spaniards to enhance their security, "follow all recommendations given by local authorities," and be informed about the location of the shelter.
Meanwhile, the Italian Embassy in Kiev has also announced a decision to close to visitors for the day due to possible security threats. "As a precautionary measure, the embassy in Kiev will be closed to visitors today, but it will continue its work," a statement on the official website of the embassy reads. "In case of an air alert," the embassy recommended Italian citizens in Ukraine to follow safety precautions and "immediately seek the nearest shelter."
Earlier, it was reported that the US Embassy in Kiev had suspended its operations on November 20.
Since the beginning of the day, several explosions have occurred in Kiev. Air alerts have sounded in Kiev three times, with sirens active in the region for 11 consecutive hours.
