ISTANBUL, November 19. /TASS/. Turkey is for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine and is ready to continue mediation on this track, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"We are ready to take on any mediatory role between the parties [to the conflict]. We both want this and have the capability to do this. I very much hope that the new US administration will take bolder and more constructive steps toward peace," the TRT Haber television channel quoted him as saying after his participation in the Group of Twenty summit.

"Ukraine is our neighbor. Russia is our neighbor too. And we want to maintain relations with both of them. I hope we can achieve a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia as soon as possible. Thus we will be able to achieve the peace the entire planet is waiting for," he noted.
