China ready to boost cooperation with Russia within SCO — top diplomat

BEIJING, November 19. /TASS/. Beijing is ready to actively cooperate with Moscow within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of a G20 summit in Brazil.
"China has taken over the SCO presidency and is ready to closely cooperate with Russia in order to take its activities to a new level," Wang pointed out, as cited on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website.
The top Chinese diplomat noted that next year would mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the world war against Nazism. He stressed that China and Russia "should work together to arrange memorial events and firmly defend the achievements of the victory in World War II, as well as global justice, guided by history and discovering the future."
