BEIRUT, November 18. /TASS/. Six paramedics from a Hezbollah medical service died after an Israeli air raid on the settlement of Barashit in southern Lebanon, the Elnashra news portal reported, citing a Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) spokesman.
The missiles targeted a building housing a first-aid station, the spokesman said.
According to earlier reports, two paramedics were killed when a drone hit an ambulance in the city of Nabatieh.
As follows from the Lebanese health ministry’s statistics, 178 paramedics have been killed and 279 others have been wounded in Israeli bombardments since the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023. As many as 246 ambulances and eight hospitals have been destroyed, and damage has been done to 36 more clinics.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesman Avihai Edri said on October 8 that Hezbollah militants were using ambulances "to transport saboteurs and weapons." "We warn against continuing such practices and call on medical brigades not to talk or work with Hezbollah," he said.
