Hezbollah spokesman dies in Israeli attack on Beirut — TV

BEIRUT, November 17. /TASS/. Hezbollah spokesman Mohammad Afif had been killed by an Israeli air raid on Beirut’s Ras al-Nabaa quarters, the Al Jazeera television channel saod, citing sources in the Lebanese security service.
According to the television channel, Afif was inside the building housing the headquarters of the pro-Syrian Arab Socialist Baath Party. At least two strikes were delivered on this building.
According to the Lebanese health ministry, the attack left five people dead and dozens wounded.
The party’s leader, Ali Hijazi told Al Jazeera that he is safe because he was not inside the office at the moment.
Afif has been heading Hezbollah’s press office since 2014. He belonged to the generation of Hezbollah’s founders and was close to the organization’s late leader, Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli air attack on September 27. Afif was in charge of overseeing the Al Manar television channel, the Nour radio station, and Al-Ahed News portal.
