Slovakia expects Trump to improve global situation — Fico’s adviser
This is due to the fact that not only Mr. Fico, but the whole our party remains consistent in our political steps, our ideas and our rhetoric, Mazgut said
SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, November 17. /TASS/. Bratislava expects US President-elect Donald Trump to influence the global situation positively, Slovakian MP, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico’s adviser Jan Mazgut told TASS.
"Yes, our situation is almost similar to that in Hungary led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This is due to the fact that not only Mr. Fico, but the whole our party remains consistent in our political steps, our ideas and our rhetoric. This somehow contradicts the policy of the European Union and the United States. I hope, and I would like to believe that the situation will improve not only for Slovakia, but also for the European Union and eventually for the whole world with the new US president, Mr. Donald Trump, immediately after his inauguration on January 20," he said on the sidelines of an international conference on prospects of cooperation between BRICS and European countries that is underway in Sochi.
Republican Trump defeated his Democratic rival, current US Vice President Kamala Harris, in the November 5 presidential election. Apart from that, the Republican Party took control of the Senate and is also expected to gain a majority in the House of Representatives. Trump’s inauguration is set for January 20, 2025.
