TEL AVIV, November 16. /TASS/. Late on Friday, Israeli warplanes delivered the fourth airstrike on outskirts of Beirut since the start of the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

According to a statement, released by the IDF press service, Israeli warplanes conducted "intelligence-based strikes" in the Dahieh neighborhood of Beirut. Among the targets struck throughout the day were Hezbollah command centers, weapons storage facilities, and other military infrastructure sites.

"These strikes are a part of the IDF's ongoing efforts to dismantle and degrade Hezbollah's military capabilities in the Dahieh area, where Hezbollah has systematically embedded its terrorist infrastructure amidst the Lebanese civilian population, cynically exploiting them as a human shield," the IDF said.

On September 23, Israel launched Operation Northern Arrows against Hezbollah units in Lebanon, during which it is carrying out massive airstrikes against the movement's military facilities. The stated goal is to create secure conditions in Israel's northern border areas so that tens of thousands of residents can return there. As a result of one of the strikes, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was eliminated in Beirut on September 27. The organization confirmed his death and vowed to continue its confrontation with Israel. On the night of October 1, the Israeli army announced the beginning of a ground operation in the border areas in southern Lebanon.
