LONDON, November 15. /TASS/. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin despite the position of the Ukrainian side, Reuters reported, citing a source in the Ukrainian presidential office.
According to him, Vladimir Zelensky told Scholz that the conversation with Putin "will only help to reduce the isolation" of Russia.
The first conversation between Scholz and Putin in almost two years took place on the afternoon of November 15. According to German Cabinet spokesman Steffen Hebestreit, the two sides discussed the situation in Ukraine.
