SUKHUM, November 15. /TASS/. Abkhazia’s opposition has managed to take control of the entire complex of government buildings, a TASS correspondent reported.

In order to stabilize the situation, President Aslan Bzhania decided to withdraw from the parliament a bill on the ratification of the agreement with Russia on the implementation of investment projects by Russian legal entities on the territory of the republic.

Protest rally

- On November 15, the Abkhazian parliament was supposed to consider the issue of ratification of the agreement with Russia on the implementation of investment projects by Russian legal entities on the territory of the republic.

- The session was canceled because the deputies could not approve its agenda.

- The opposition disagreed and demanded that the parliament be reconvened to consider the issue in its entirety.

- Several hundred people came out to protest.

- Representatives of the opposition demanded a moratorium on the ratification of the agreement, as well as the resignation of the country's president Bzhania.

- Protesters managed to take control of the entire complex of government buildings. The law enforcement officers who were ensuring order are leaving them.

Injured

- According to preliminary data, eight people were taken to hospital after the rally, the republic's Health Ministry said.

Reaction of authorities

- Abkhazia's Security Council called the situation tense.

- Bzhania decided to withdraw the bill on ratification of the agreement with Russia from the parliament in order to stabilize the situation in the republic, the corresponding document is now being prepared.
