All weapons pledged by Biden to Kiev to be delivered before he leaves office — Pentagon
Department’s Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh expects that for the 'next coming months of this administration'
WASHINGTON, November 15. /TASS/. The US Department of Defense will "work very hard" to deliver to Ukraine US-made weapons worth over $7 billion, once pledged by outgoing US President Joe Biden, the department’s Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh has told reporters.
"The President made clear that <…> he wants to <…> spend down the authority that Congress has allocated and authorized before he leaves office. So we're going to work very hard to make sure that happens," she said. "So I expect that for the next coming months of this administration, you're going to continue to see those packages draw down from our from what's available in our stockpiles."
Earlier this week, Press Secretary Patrick Ryder said the US Department of Defense can count on more than $7 billion, allocated for military assistance to Ukraine in line with the PDA (Presidential Drawdown Authority) mechanism.
The Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) mechanism allows the US president to deliver weapons to a foreign partner without congressional approval in case of an emergency.
