Olaf Scholz once again stood firm on his decision not to supply Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine

BERLIN, November 13. /TASS/. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is against allowing Kiev to use Western weapons for attacks deep into Russia.

"The country that does the most to ensure that Ukraine does not stand alone and is supported is also the country that must ensure that there is no escalation. I reiterate my position on this issue: I reject the concept when the weapons we supply are used for attacks deep into Russian territory," he said in the Bundestag.

In this regard, the German chancellor once again stood firm on his decision not to supply Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine.

"I will not change my position regarding sending cruise missiles from Germany," he said.

Earlier, Scholz again rejected the possibility of supplying with Taurus missiles, which have a range of about 500 kilometers. The chancellor repeatedly stated that the delivery of such weapons would entail a serious risk of escalation. Kiev has long been asking Berlin for the missiles. They are said to be similar to the British Storm Shadow missiles previously supplied to Kiev, but have a longer range.
