According to Alexander Dubinsky, the authorities in Kiev are primarily focused on securing more of the funds allocated to them

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities are planning to draft 160,000 more people into the armed forces in the near future in order to make it to the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump and have time to "earn" more money from the military conflict during this time, opposition-minded Verkhovna Rada member Alexander Dubinsky said.

"They want to draft another 160,000 people - around 50-55,000 per month, or approximately 1,700-1,800 people daily. Given the situation, I estimate the Ukrainian army's losses to be around 1,700 per day," the MP stated in a video posted on his Telegram channel. "Why three more months? Because Trump will take office only on January 21, 2025."

According to Dubinsky, the authorities in Kiev are primarily focused on securing more of the funds allocated to them. He argued that continuing hostilities without seeking compromises to end them is unwise under the current circumstances. However, the MP emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities are profiting significantly from the conflict, making it unprofitable for them to pursue peace.

Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, Alexander Litvinenko, previously announced plans to enlist 160,000 people into the Ukrainian army, with implementation expected by February 2025, according to the Financial Times newspaper.

Dubinsky, a non-factional MP, came under US sanctions in spring 2020 after releasing audio recordings allegedly compromising Joe Biden, which subsequently led to his expulsion from the pro-presidential Servant of the People parliamentary faction. Last November, he was detained on charges of state treason and is currently held in pre-trial detention. Dubinsky has consistently urged that Kiev engage in negotiations with Russia to protect lives and secure the country's future. However, he contends that President Vladimir Zelensky and his chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, are likely to obstruct any attempts to end the conflict in Ukraine.
