China-Russia relations reach highest level in history, senior official says
Chen Wenqing stressed that the two countries always adhere to the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening mutual political and strategic trust

China and Russia are steadily strengthening mutual political and strategic trust, and the bilateral relations between the countries have reached the highest level in history, Chen Wenqing, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party and the secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, said.
"Guided by the strategic planning and key agreements between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, China-Russia relations have reached the highest level in history. These are now relations of strategic partnership and cooperation in the new era," he said at a meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu.
Chen Wenqing added that the two countries always adhere to the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening mutual political and strategic trust, deepening strategic cooperation, and constantly advancing practical cooperation in various fields.
"The two countries have set an example of cooperation and positive engagement between large countries," the Chinese official said.
On Wednesday, Sergey Shoigu and Chen Wenqing held the ninth round of Russian-Chinese consultations on security, justice, and law and order issues.
