DOHA, November 12. /TASS/. The US military carried out a drone strike on a car carrying Houthi leaders in the Al Bayda Governorate, Al Arabiya reported citing its source.
"An American drone attacked a car carrying Houthi leaders in the As Sawma'ah District," an unnamed source claimed.
According to the source, the US also carried out strikes at Houthi military targets in this area.
Previously, Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV channel reported that American troops had attacked a civilian car in the As Sawma’ah District. No information about deaths or injuries was provided.
With the conflict in the Gaza Strip escalating, the Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement announced that it would conduct strikes on Israeli territory and block pro-Israeli vessels from passing through the waters of the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until Tel Aviv ceases its military operations in the Palestinian enclave. Since last year, the Houthis have attacked dozens of civilian vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
In response to Ansar Allah’s actions, US officials announced the creation of an international coalition and the preparation of Operation Prosperity Guardian to ensure freedom of navigation and protection of ships in the Red Sea. As a result, UK and US forces began regularly targeting rebel military facilities in Yemen.
