Russian-Ethiopian Economic Forum kicks off in Addis Ababa
The goal of the forum is to provide Russian and Ethiopian entrepreneurs with a platform for developing mutually beneficial cooperation and promoting Russian products and technologies on the African market
NAIROBI, November 12. /TASS/. The Russian-Ethiopian Economic Forum has opened in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, and will run until November 14, the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
As noted, the forum is sponsored by the Coordination Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AFROCOM) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.
The goal of the forum is to provide Russian and Ethiopian entrepreneurs with a platform for developing mutually beneficial cooperation and promoting Russian products and technologies on the African market.
The exhibition is attended by Russian industrial, transport, agricultural companies, as well as entrepreneurs in communications, banking, digital solutions, IT and cybersecurity, education and culture.
From the Ethiopian side, the forum is attended by large industrial companies in the field of investment, telecommunications technology, banking and construction, including Ethiopian Investment Holding, Ethio Telecom, Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation, National Bank of Ethiopia, Kilinto Industrial Park and Bole Lemi Industrial Park.
Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ethiopia Mesganau Arga spoke at the opening of the event. AFROCOM Chairman Igor Morozov stressed the importance of the forum for creating a basis for promoting Russian high-tech products and establishing local production facilities of Russian enterprises whose products are in demand on the Ethiopian market.
