DUBAI, November 12. /TASS/. At least 322 humanitarian workers have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli-Palestinian conflict escalated in October 2023, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian territory said.

"There continues to be a lack of an enabling environment to bring in sufficient humanitarian goods and commodities to the Gaza Strip. Particularly with winter approaching, it is more vital than ever to bring in humanitarian supplies such as shelter materials, clothing, fuel and food," the agency pointed out in a report.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, when militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian movement Hamas staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking hostages. In response, Israel launched a military operation in the Palestinian enclave to destroy Hamas military and political wings and free all hostages.
