DUBAI, November 8. /TASS/. Iran should respond to Israel's actions prudently to prevent the Jewish state from dragging the country into a full-scale war, an adviser to the Islamic Republic's supreme leader, Ali Larijani, said.

"Israel has killed many people in Gaza but has not achieved any of its goals. <...> In Lebanon, they [the Israelis] killed many people. But did they succeed in altering the course of the war? Now they want to drag Iran into this conflict. As our leadership says, we must not fall into their trap. <...> An emotional reaction would be a mistake; the response should be strategic," Larijani stated on IRIB TV. The Iranian politician also emphasized that the decision on responding to the October 26 Israeli strike rests with the Supreme National Security Council, adding that it is inappropriate for everyone to voice their opinion on the matter.

The adviser stated that Israel's primary objective in the Gaza conflict was to forcibly relocate the entire Palestinian population from the enclave to neighboring countries. However, when Arab states recognized this plan, they refused to allow "turning this plot into reality."

On October 1, Iran launched a massive missile strike against Israel in retaliation for the assassination of key officials from Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Israel has pledged to respond to this attack.

On October 26, the Israel Defense Forces reported targeting military sites within Iran in response to "numerous continuous attacks." The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force stated that military facilities in Ilam, Tehran, and Khuzestan provinces were struck, although the damage was limited and air defenses successfully intercepted most of the incoming attacks. At least four Iranian servicemen and one civilian were killed in the Israeli strikes.

On November 2, Esmaeil Kousari, a member of Iran's Majlis National Security Committee, stated that Iran's Supreme National Security Council has decided on a military response to Israel that will be significantly stronger than any previous strike. This response will involve forces from the Axis of Resistance, including Hezbollah, Hamas and its allies in Gaza, radical Shiite groups from the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, and Yemen's Ansar Allah, the Houthi rebel movement.
