Trump’s election to facilitate real talks on peace in Ukraine — Vucic

NEW YORK, November 7. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump would be able to facilitate the beginning of true peace talks on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic believes.
"I hope that Trump’s election would mean the beginning of clear and convincing negotiations," the Serbian leader told Bloomberg.
Bloomberg also noted that certain allies of Ukraine have started to privately discuss whether Vladimir Zelensky should actually begin the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Previously, The Wall Street Journal said that Trump’s potential victory in the election will create even greater uncertainty in regards to Ukraine.
During the meeting with the Russian Foreign Ministry board, Putin named four preconditions for talks with Ukraine, which include the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbass and Novorossiya and Kiev’s rejection of accession to NATO. Russia also considers the withdrawal of all Western sanctions and Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned and non-nuclear status necessary.
Voting in the US presidential election ended early on November 6, Moscow time. While official results have yet to be announced, Fox News has already projected that Trump is leading the election with 295 Electoral College votes, out of the 270 needed to win. Trump himself has already declared himself the 47th President of the United States. US House Speaker Mike Johnson has congratulated ‘President-elect’ Trump, as have foreign leaders.
