Trump won’t be able to break up Russian-Chinese strategic alliance — expert
However, Alexander Dynkin noted that Russia and China have their own independent agenda
SOCHI, November 6. /TASS/. Donald Trump will not be able to break up the strategic alliance of Russia and China if he wins the presidential election, Alexander Dynkin, President of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, said on the sidelines of the 21st Annual Meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
"It is very naive to think that the president of one country, even a very large one, can break up the strategic partnership between Moscow and Beijing," he said, speaking about the impact of Trump's victory on the Russian-Chinese partnership.
However, Dynkin noted that Russia and China have their own independent agenda. "I don't think that this can radically affect anything," he said.
Speaking about Trump's personality, the expert recalled that he came from show business, did not work in government structures, therefore, according to Dynkin, "Trump is more inclined to spontaneous decisions, answers."
"This will contain both positive and negative aspects of his future activities. But for now, any comments, in my opinion, are premature, we need to wait until the new administration is formed," he concluded.
Voting in the US elections concluded on the morning of November 6, Moscow time.
The official results have not yet been finalized, but according to Fox News forecasts, Trump has already secured 277 electoral votes, with 270 required to win. He has already declared himself the 47th President of the United States. Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson called him the elected head of state, and foreign leaders have begun to congratulate Trump on his victory.
