NEW YORK, November 6. /TASS/. Republican Donald Trump has won 70.7 million votes, while his Democratic rival Kamala Harris has received 65.7 million, with 87% of ballots counted, Edison Research reported.

Thus, Trump is supported by 51% of voters and Harris by 47.4%.

According to CNN and The Washington Post’s forecasts, Trump is leading with 276 electoral votes, while the Associated Press, Fox News, and The New York Times forecast his tally at 277 votes.

The US held its general election on November 5, with the voting having concluded when it was Wednesday morning in Moscow. Although vote counting continues, Trump has already proclaimed himself the country’s 47th president. Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson has already called him the elected head of state. Meanwhile, numerous congratulations have already been sent to Trump from foreign leaders.
