NEW YORK, November 5. /TASS/. The New York police detained a man, who threatened to set fire to a voting station in the town of Fowler.
According to the police, this man has a criminal record, but the vote organizers did not have updated information about his status, so he was not allowed to vote after he arrived at the voting station.
When the man was turned away, he got angry and started threatening to burning the station down and to return with a firearm.
The man was detained without an incident, the police said, adding that the investigation is underway.
The US is holding election on November 5, with voters choosing the president, governors in 11 states and two US territories, a third of the Senate, and all members of the House of Representatives. Republican candidate Donald Trump, who served as president from 2017 to 2021, is competing against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who has been vice president since January 2021. Trump, having lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden, is seeking a return to the White House.
