Unable to counter Russian tactics, Kiev’s forces may retreat to Dnieper — Ukrainian expert
"The opponents are now using tactical techniques that we still have nothing to counter with," Oleg Starikov said
MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. Ukraine’s armed forces are already unable to resist the Russian army's tactics on the battlefield. If Kiev's military fails to devise a way of countering the Russian troops in the future, this will force the Ukrainians to retreat to the Dnieper, a retired colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Oleg Starikov, has said.
"The opponents are now using tactical techniques that we still have nothing to counter with. They surround us from three sides, forcing us to withdraw, and then they quickly come in and move forward further. Where will all this lead to in the near future? It will lead to a situation where we will have to withdraw further and further to the left bank of the Dnieper," he said in a conversation on the YouTube channel Black Swan.
On October 31, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Aleksandr Syrsky, notified the commander-in-chief of NATO's Joint Forces in Europe, who also heads the US European Command, General Christopher Cavoli, of heavy fighting along the entire frontline. On November 2, Syrsky said during a meeting with a delegation from the Czech Armed Forces led by the chief of the General Staff, Karel Rehka, that the Ukrainian army was facing one of the most powerful offensives by the Russian military since February 2022.
