French politician calls to end 'anti-Russian hysteria' after Russia bans EU media
Florian Philippot pointed out that Russia was retaliating 27 months after the EU had banned several Russian media in March 2022, which is "very nice"
PARIS, June 26. /TASS/. NATO should stop ‘anti-Russian hysteria’ and financing Ukraine, the leader of the French Patriots party Florian Philippot said.
"If we want to settle everything, let’s stop the anti-Russian hysteria, arming and financing Ukraine and finally discuss the call for peace!" the French politician wrote on his X page, commenting on Russia's ban on several foreign media outlets.
He pointed out that Russia is retaliating 27 months after the EU has banned several Russian media in March 2022, which is "very nice."
Earlier, the EU Council approved the 14th sanctions package, banning "all broadcast activity" of three Russian media outlets: RIA Novosti, Izvestia and Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
On June 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the country was restricting access to 81 EU media outlets on its territory in retaliation for the EU Council's May 17 decision to ban Russian media.
At the same time, the ministry added that if the restrictions on Russian media were lifted, Moscow would also reconsider its decision regarding foreign media.
