Ukraine offers to use neighbors' air defense systems to protect its gas storage facilities
According to German Galushchenko, the issue has been discussed, and "everyone is quite positive about it"
MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said that he had discussed with EU colleagues the use of air defense systems of neighboring European countries to protect Ukrainian gas storages.
"We offer this solution, so we could use the air defense systems [of European countries] to protect these storages. I think it’s a very wise decision," he said. A video of Galushchenko speaking on the sidelines of an informal meeting of EU energy ministers in Brussels was posted by the press service of the European Council.
According to Galushchenko, the issue has been discussed, and "everyone is quite positive about it." However, "I think that it is the level of political decisions, not the level of ministers of energy," he added.
