EU aid for Ukraine stumbles over lack of coordination
According to the source, there is enough capacity to produce munitions
BRUSSELS, April 15. /TASS/. The European Union together with the European Defense Agency has purchased munitions for Ukraine worth €350 million out of the proposed €1.5 billion aid package, the European edition of the Politico newspaper reported citing a senior EU official.
According to him, there is enough capacity to produce munitions, but many EU member nations are reluctant to work together to this end.
According to Politico, the European Defense Agency was also involved in the initiative to provide Ukraine with 1 million shells by February 2024. However, in December 2023, European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen admitted that the EU would not be able to fulfill this promise by the deadline.
